Hidden Acres is an elite equestrian center that was established in May 2007 near Port St. John, Florida to provide the residents of Northern Brevard County with a state of the art boarding facility and expert horsemanship instruction.
While close and convenient, our facility uniquely borders a federal wildlife preserve, giving the illusion of being "a million miles away". Our spectacular sunsets can tame the most stressful of days and provide a sense of peace and relaxation that can be elusive to today's busy lifestyles.
We offer a fun, family atmosphere but consider safety our first priority. The owners and staff believe in community, cooperation and service and strive for excellence in communication and customer satisfaction. At Hidden Acres, Inc., we have developed a systematic approach of teaching correct, tried-and-true methods of horsemanship at every level and our primary goal is to ensure the safety of our riders and horses and to create a fun learning environment. We believe in a well-rounded education where students will learn to ride, stable-management, and horse management. Some of the greatest skills that can be learned through our program are teamwork, responsibility, building relationships, and self control. Students will even be encouraged to find areas of improvement n other riders and assist newer riders in their progress to develop their eye and teaching abilities as well as their feel and riding abilities. As instructors, we understand the educational value of helping others.
Our Summer Camps are limited to 30 kids per session. Each session will be broken down into three rotations of stable and ground manners, control and obedience of the horse developed through basic obstacle courses and games, and developing and understanding the importance of the rider’s position. All sessions will be supervised by a qualified instructor and several assistants to allow for individual attention when needed. All instructors and assistant instructors have been taught the importance of correct horsemanship and safety. We designed our facility and chose our horses to provide the tools for learning and development of all levels. Developing a respectful, working relationship between human and horse is not a destination, but a journey of fulfillment.
Some individuals may want to further their experience by continuing in our lesson program. As our summer camps are geared towards a more relaxed and social environment our lesson program is more rigorous. Although it is still intended to be fun and friendly, the skills you will learn will take you to a level of riding with confidence and security in a variety of situations. Our show program consists of beginner level walk-trot, dressage, jumping, and cross-country. However, our program is intended to teach solid basic horsemanship regardless of experience or goals which means the pleasure rider can gain just as much as the most serious competitor.
